One of the longest running film franchises in the modern times is 'Fast and Furious' which began in 2001 and has spawned seven sequels with the last 'Fate of the Furious' earning a staggering 1.2Billion USD at the global box office.  Pre-production work has started for 'Fast and Furious 9' which Universal has slated for release in 2020.

Vin Diesel who headlines the cast of 'Fast and Furious' series has announced that Justin Lin is in talks to direct the 9th installment and actress Jordana Brewster who plays his sister will be returning to the cast having missed the previous film.  Lin has directed four films in the series starting with 'Tokyo Drift' and is credited for resurrecting the franchise which sagged.  Stay tuned for more updates on this new film that is most likely to costar Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez and Kurt Russel among others.
