Vimala Raman was the most promising new face when she was introduced in films in 2006. She had a fairly good outing in Malayalam starting her first film ‘Time’ with Suresh Gopi. After Time she managed to do films with all the mega stars of Mollywood. ‘Nasrani’ with Mammootty, ‘Romeo’ and ‘Calcutta News’ with Dileep and ‘College Kumaran’ with Mohanlal, Vimala was doing well. She was also successful in Telugu films. Only place where she couldn’t make it was in Tamil, that too even after getting introduced by K. Balachandar.

The girl from Sydney is doing pretty well even in Telugu. She is even part of the current sensation in Kannada ‘Aptha Rakshaka’ which is shattering all the previous box office records in Karnataka.

Now Vimala Raman has been signed for an English film called ‘Dame 999’. She plays her native as an Indian Malayalee girl who falls in love with an English man. Speaking the language is not a problem as she was brought up in Australia and the crew will also be mostly Indians, and that will make her even more comfortable. Good luck Vimala!
