Senbagavalli the District Secretary of the All India Marxist Leninist Communist Women's Empowerment party lived in the Villupuram Saalamedu, K.K. Nagar area in a hut. Her husband Kathirvel who worked as a security guard in Chennai had come back home three months back with a lump some of 3 lakhs rupees. The man is said to have drunk heavily every day and started fighting with Valli.

A few days back Senbagavalli had lodged a police complaint that Durairaj and five others hailing from Mela Veethi Villupuram had barged into her house and killed her husband and burnt the house as well. However, in the police investigation, it was found that Valli on the 8th of February had a fight with her husband and in a rage had strangled him and then cut his neck with a knife. The blood had poured out and the whole house was filled with the stench and did not go away even after washing the floor repeatedly. The lady then hit upon the idea of burning down the house and shifting the blame on Durairaj who was already an enemy of hers due to a property dispute. She has now been arrested and charged with murder.
