Vijay Sethupathi and Madhavan's neo-noir action thriller Vikram Vedha was arguably the best movie of 2017.

The film is now all set to be remade in Hindi, with popular actors Saif Ali Khan and Aamir Khan playing the roles of Madhavan's Vikram and Vijay Sethupathi's Vedha respectively. Vikram Vedha tells the story of Vikram, a police inspector who sets out to track down and kill Vedha, a gangster. After Vedha voluntarily surrenders himself, he tells Vikram three stories which change his perceptions of good and evil. It was earlier reported that Shah Rukh Khan will be essaying the role of gangster Vedha, while Madhavan will be reprising his cop role.

Produced by Neeraj Pandey, the Hindi remake of Vikram Vedha will be directed by Pushkar and Gayatri, who also helmed the original version. The rest of the cast and crew is yet to be finalized. The shoot is set to go on floors by March 2020.
