Kollywood star Chiyaan Vikram is teaming up with acclaimed director Pa Ranjith, for an upcoming movie tentatively titled #Chiyaan61. Produced by Studio Green, the movie's shoot started today with a switch on ceremony in Chennai. The auspicious ceremony was attended by the entire cast and crew including Vikram. Reportedly, the film is based on an incident that took place in the KGF during the British era in the 19th century. G V Prakash is the music composer of the upcoming action drama. Kishore Kumar is the cinematographer, and Selva is the editor. More details of the cast and crew will be announced soon.

On the other side, Vikram is currently waiting for the release of his much awaited film Cobra. The film is set to hit screens on August 11. Touted to be a supernatural thriller, Cobra, a multi-lingual project, will release in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi. KGF fame Srinidhi Shetty plays the female lead, while former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan will be seen playing the antagonist. The film also features Miya, Mamukkoya, K.S. Ravikumar, Renuka, Babu Antony, Kanika, Roshan Mathew, Padmapriya Janakiraman, Robo Shankar, and many others in pivotal roles.
