After the success of ‘Ennu Ninte Modieen’ director RS Vimal had announced a mega-budget period film with actor Vikram titled '‘Suryaputra Mahavir Karna’'. The movie which is based on the mythological figure Karnan from Mahabharatha was initially planned with Prithviraj in the lead and later got replaced by Vikram.
On Vikram's birthday last year, the big announcement was made by revealing a teaser featuring the actor. The shoot of a few portions of the film had also commenced. The movie had been in the news for quite a long time. However, the project now seems to have been revamped with a new team.
Giving a glimpse of the movie, RS Vimal recently unveiled an official logo of the flick. However, the lead character's face was not revealed in the teaser. Sharing the teaser, Rs Vimal wrote, "This is nothing but an absolute dream-come-true moment! Excited to share a glimpse of our most valued project,..."
It is reported that the actor had opted out of the movie as he is part of another historical fiction, Ponniyin Selvan directed by Mani Ratnam. It is speculated that Vikram will be replaced by a Bollywood actor in the movie.
Directed by RS Vimal, 'Suryaputra Mahavir Karna' will be made in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam languages, and the film is claimed to be redefining the genre of period dramas. The film will narrate the story of Karna from the perspective of the unsung hero of the Mahabharata.
The upcoming multilingual movie is produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, and Jackky Bhagnani of Pooja Entertainment, one of the biggest production companies in India. Dialogues and screenplay of the film are penned by poet Dr. Kumar Vishwas.
