Recently, there were various reports that the Vikram starrer multilingual mythological movie Mahavir Karna directed by RS Vimal, was dropped, after the director announced a new movie Dharma Rajya. However, Vimal has now clarified on the status of Mahavir Karna.

In a recent interview, Vimal has said that he was disappointed seeing reports of Mahavir Karna getting dropped and revealed that Vikram will join the shooting of Mahavir Karna after he completes Cobra and Ponniyin Selvan. As it will take time for Karna to resume Vimal has announced Dharma Rajya.

Vimal added that Mahavir Karna began shooting last year and some portions were shot such as the introduction scenes of Vikram's character. Vimal has said that the team is ready with a trailer as well which will be released after the lockdown situation gets over.
