Actor Chiyaan Vikram is currently shooting for 'Sketch' directed by Vijay Chander and 'Dhruva Natchathiram' directed by Gautham Menon. After finishing these two films he will have to take up 'Saamy 2' the proposed sequel to the 2003 mega blockbuster directed by Hari.
'Saamy 2' was announced during the audio launch of Vikram's previous release 'Iru Mugan' held in August 2016. However the sequel to be produced by Shibu Thameens who had also funded 'Iru Mugan' is yet to go on floors.
Putting an end to the long wait the official press release from the makers announcing that Devi Sri Prasad will score music for 'Saamy 2' also confirmed that the shooting of the film will begin in July 2017.
Now we learn from a reliable source that the makers are planning to release 'Saamy 2' in summer 2018. The film will have Trisha and Keerthy Suresh as female leads.
It is worth noting that 'Saamy' released for 2003 summer on May 1st.We hope 'Saamy 2' releasing on 2018 summer recreates the magic.
