As revealed in the audio launch function of Chiyaan VIkram's latest super hit 'Iru Mugan', the National award winning actor and director Hari will be teaming up after a gap of 12 years for the sequel of their 2003 blockbuster 'Saamy'. The sequel will be produced by Shibu Thameens, who produced 'Iru Mugan' and has tasted stupendous success.

Nowadays many directors go for thematic sequels without having to care about the continuation of the story. However 'Saamy 2' will not be so if one has to trust what Shibu said in the Success Meet of 'Iru Mugan' held on Wednesday (September 14).

Shibu said " 'Saamy 2' will be a proper sequel with the continuation of the story".

It is also revealed that the sequel film will start with the climax of 'Saamy' where the lead character takes a dip in the river after killing the main villain Perumal Pichai in Tirunelveli.

Harris Jayaraj who rendered the musical score for 'Saamy' as well as 'Iru Mugan' will be retained to give hit numbers for 'Saamy 2'. The other cast and crew members are being finalized. The film is expected to go on floors in early 2017.
