Kollywood comedian Karunakaran, most recently seen as Vijay Deverakonda's friend in 'NOTA', has been criticizing Tamil superstar Vijay's apparent political aims.
This has piqued the fans of the 'Mersal' and 'Sarkar' actor, who have targeted him for his alleged Andhra background. To the allegation that he is not Tamil enough, Karunakaran recently said, "Thamby, I will post the certificates of what my dad did for this country as a RAW officer. Also, please be informed that the only reason I started hating Vijay sir is his abusive fake troll IDs like you and nothing else (sic)."
The comedian has stated that there have been threats to his life as warnings have been issued by Vijay's fanboys through social media and over the phone. Karuna will reportedly lodge a complaint against Vijay and his fans with the Chennai Police Commissioner.
As a parting shot on Sunday, the comedian said, "The fear that is being created in this society is unwanted for this society realise it work for it don’t defend in cheap ways use word power not by threat calls grow up work for the state nation not for individuals but for the society (sic)."
