Vijay's face removed from posters

Advertisement posters showcasing ÂIlayathalabathi Vijay endorsing a private jewelry shop have been targeted by Election commission officials. As per the order of the officials, actor VijayÂs face has been removed from those posters pasted across Coimbatore.

Vijay met Narendra Modi, The Prime Ministerial candidate of Bharathiya Janata Party last week in a private hotel in Coimbatore where the Gujarat Chief Minister was stationed for campaigning for his party candidates. Though Vijay had clarified that the meeting was apolitical, the Election commission officers apparently see the meeting as VijayÂs way of endorsing a particular party. Hence this action has been taken, sources say.
Vijay fans living in and around Coimbatore have expressed displeasure for VijayÂs face being veiled though he did not publicly vouch any party or a candidate contesting in the election.
