Vijayashanthi has been a leader of the Telangana BJP. The former MP is apparently unhappy with the saffron party's leadership.

On Thursday, speaking to the media, she sounded as if she didn't like the fact that she was not allowed to speak on the dais during the Sarvai Papanna birth anniversary celebrations. When asked if she is dissatisfied with the leadership of her party, she told the media the question has to be put to the BJP leaders. She added that it is up to Bandi Sanjay and K Lakshman to clarify how they are planning to make use of Vijayashanthi's services for the party.

She suggested that she won't be able to add value unless she is given a top responsibility. She described herself as a firebrand leader. "I am someone who fought for the people on the floor of Parliament. I have to first be given a role," Vijayashanthi added.

As for contesting in elections, it is up to the party to decide from where she should contest in the 2023 Telangana Assembly elections.
