'Vijayanand' is the title of an upcoming biopic set to hit the screens on December 9. Its trailer, at more than three minutes, testifies to the film staying true to its subject.
The pan-South India movie tells the story of Dr. Vijay Sankeshwar, the logistics entrepreneur who became a victim of a media-driven conspiracy, after which he launched a Kannada daily eventually selling it at a cover prize of just Re 1. It seems his rise against all odds, especially those conjured up by his rivals, forms the lion's share of the screen time.
To be released in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam, the biopic is headlined by Nihal and Anant Nag. Prakash Belwadi plays the titular character's bete noir.
Bharath Bopanna, Siri Prahalad, Vinaya Prasad, V Ravichandran, Anish Kuruvilla, Ramesh Bhat, Dayal Padmanabhan, Shine Shetty, and Archana Kottige have other roles.
Directed by Rishika Sharma, the Telugu version has dialogues written by Hanumaan Choudary. With music by Gopi Sundar C and cinematography by Keertan Poojary, the film has stunts by Ravi Varma. The dance choreography is by Imran Sardhariya.
