The 'Chennai 600028' and 'Anjathey' girl is playing an interesting role in C S Amudhan's 'Rendavadhu Padam'. "I am doing a CBI officer in this film. I do a lot of homework these days for this different character," she says.

Vijayalakshmi adds: "My close friend’s mum works with the Central Bureau of Investigation. I am in touch with her and I’m meeting her in regular intervals to get myself familiarize with the role."

The actress is doing a contrast character in her other film 'Vana Yudhdham'. "In this biopic, I play the wife of forest brigand Veerappan. Both Rendavadhu Padam and Vana Yudhdham have offered me challenged roles."

While 'Rendavadhu Padam is the second of film of C S Amudhan of 'Thamizh Padam' fame, 'Vana Yudhdham' is directed by A M R Ramesh, the Sandalwood director who is popular for movies like 'Kuppi' and 'Kaavalar Kudiyiruppu'.
