At a time when there are heavy rains all over the state, veteran actor Vijayakumar has made an important request to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami. Vijayakumar has appealed to the CM to protect people living on the banks of the Chembarambakkam Lake as the water level in the lake is rising.
Vijayakumar’s letter reads “I’ve been living in Kalaimagal Nagar, Ekkatuthangal for many years. When water from Chembarambakkam Lake was released in December 2015, many houses in our locality till Adyar faced irreversible damage and many lives were lost.”
Further, the letter read “This year again the water level at the Lake has exceeded 21 feet and if this continues, we’ll face a similar situation as 2015. I request you to consider the gravity of the situation and release small quantities of water to help people living in water banks avoid loss of property and lives. I request you to take necessary steps in this regard and protect the people living on the banks just like you have saved people of TN from the coronavirus.”
