Captain Vijayakanth's DMDK has had a love-hate relationship with the ADMK ever since the two parties aligned in the 2011 elections and now once again ties have been severed. A party statement has made it clear that after three rounds of talks an agreement could not be arrived at regarding seat-sharing and hence the decision to quit the alliance has been taken.
DMDK and Vijayakanth's brother in law L.K Sudeesh has stated that to his party men today is Diwali and predicted that the ADMK and BJP will not even win one seat in the upcoming Tamil Nadu General Elections and lose its deposits.
Now that the seat-sharing in the DMK led alliance and Kamal Haasan's MNM are all but sealed it remains to be seen if the DMDK will go it alone in the coming elections in all the constituencies.
