Veteran action hero turned politician Vijayakanth's younger son Shanmuga Pandian made his acting debut in 'Madurai Veeran'. He was waiting for the right script for the past few years and has finally found one. The new untitled project has been launched in the presence of Premalatha Vijayakanth who congratulated the team.

The film produced by Directors Cinemas is directed by U Anbu who earlier directed 'Walter' and 'Rekla'. Parthiban Desingu who directed Hip Hop Aadhi's 'Natpe Thunai' is writing the screenplay and dialgoues. The film depicts the life of the people living near the forest areas amongst wild elephants which has never been seen on screen according to the team.

The first phase shooting of the film has started in the jungles of Kerala. The crew is also planning to shoot in the forests of Orissa, Thailand. After the success of 'Madurai Veeran', hero Shanmuga Pandian will be seen in a different role in the film. Kasthuri Raja, MS Bhaskar and Yamini Chander have been signed to play other important roles while talks are going on with leading stars for other characters. The team is planning to announce the title of the film on auspicious date of Aadi 18th which falls in the first week of August.
