There was a buzz that actor and DMDK president Vijayakanth would start his next film soon, which would also be his directorial venture, quite like the recent release ‘Virudhagiri’.

However, sources close to the Captain now say that the decision has been postponed as the most happening politician of Tamil Nadu is gearing up to face the fast approaching Assembly elections.

“After the party conference at Salem last week, Captain has become an inevitable force in TN political arena. He is now busy with the final round of alliance talks after which he would kickstart the election campaign. So there is no time for him to start a new movie,” they maintain.

Meanwhile, Viayakanth has challenged Chief Minister and DMK president M Karunanidhi saying he would contest in the same constituency as the DMK supremo. “If need be, I will contest against the Chief Minister himself,” the actor-politician said.
