Legendary action hero Vijayakanth who ruled Tamil cinema during the eighties and nineties has stopped acting after his switch to politics a decade and a half ago. Since then he appeared in a special role in his son Shanmughapandian's debut movie 'Sagaptham'.

Due to longterm illness the Puratchi Kalaigniar (Revolutionary Artiste) has been off public life for the past few years. Recently we broke the news to you that the much loved veteran star is likely to make a comeback to films through 'Mazhai Pidikatha Manithan' starring Vijay Antony in the lead role.

Vijay Milton the director of the film has once again confirmed that he is indeed spoken to Vijayakanth and his family to play the powerful character in 'Mazhai Pidikatha Manithan'. He has stated that if all goes well with the health of Vijayakanth he will take part in the next schedule of shooting for the film.

'Mazhai Pidikatha Manithan' has Vijay Antony and Megha Akash as the lead pair with Sarathkumar, Saranya Ponvannan, Thalaivasal Vijay, Murali Sharma, Pruthvi Ambaar and Daali Dhananjaya in the supporting cast.
