Yesteryear actress and filmmaker G Vijaya Nirmala has been conferred with Raghupathi Venkaiah Award. The same is a lifetime achievement award and Telugu cinema's highest award, just as Dadasaheb Phalke is the highest national award in the field of cinema.
The award has been conferred in recognition of her contribution to Telugu cinema through the 46 films she directed. For the same, she had also found a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.
"The Royal Academy of Global Peace UK is conferring honorary doctorate of arts to Smt. G. Vijaya Niramala in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 12 May, 2017 at 2 p.m. The venue is Wisma Tun Sambanthan, Kampung Attap, Kuala Lumpur," the organizers inform. This doctorate is conferred on her for services contributed to the film world as actress, director and producer.
