As Vijay and Atlee are reuniting for a yet-untitled outing, audiences have been waiting with bated breath for the movie's updates. The first schedule of Vijay 61` wrapped up recently and in the portions, Vijay essays a never before seen village elder getup set in the 80s period in the story. Nithya Menen plays his pair in these 80s period portions.

Now the latest update is that the team will be travelling to the US for filming the next portion in which Vijay will be sporting his second look. Vijay is reportedly doing heavy workouts to shed few kilos to perfect the character.

It is to be remembered that Mohanlal too lost his weight recently, to nail a trimmed look for his role in the upcoming movie Villain, directed by B. Unnikrishnan. While Vijay will be playing a modern youth in Vijay 61, Mohanlal will be essaying a stylish salt and pepper avatar for Villain. As Ilayathalapathy will be essaying triple roles in the movie, details on his 3rd role are still under the wraps.

It must be noted that the project has three heroines- Nithya Menen, Kajal Aggarwal and Samantha playing the leading ladies. The movie also has a stellar cast that includes S. J. Suriya, Sathyaraj, Vadivelu, Kovai Sarala and Sathyan in pivotal roles.

Bankrolled by Sri Thenandal Films, Vijay 61 is penned by veteran screenwriter KV Vijayendra Prasad. Vijay 61 is expected to release in the second half of this year. Stay tuned!
