Vijay, who is currently busy with the shoot of Bigil, directed by Atlee, has finalized his role in the upcoming project, Thalapathy 64, to be directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.

While the complete cast and crew of the untitled movie are yet to be finalized, it was revealed by sources earlier that 'Kabir Singh' heroine Kiara Advani will most likely play the female lead in the movie. It was also announced that 'Angamaly Diaries' fame Antony Varghese has been roped in to play a pivotal role in the film. While none of the speculations have been confirmed by the team, an official update to be made at 6 pm today has gotten the fans excited. It is yet to be known if the update is going to be a confirmation of one of the above speculations or a new announcement.

Produced by Xavier Britto, the crew from the director's upcoming film 'Kaithi,' starring Karthi, has pretty much been retained for Thalapathy 64. The music of the film will be composed by Anirudh.
