Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi has been very vocal about his opinions on various social issues, be it the Cauvery river management issue or Jallikattu protests, or the recent statement in support of women with regard to the Sabarimala temple issue, though he has refrained himself from politics so far.

However he is all set to join politics soon, albeit on silver screens. Vijay Sethupthi's next movie Thuglak was announced yesterday during the 100th day celebrations of his romantic hit 96, and this movie is directed by debutant Delhi Prasad and produced by 7 Screen Studio Lalit Kumar.

It has been revealed that Thuglak is a political entertainer, and Vijay Sethupathi will be essaying the role of a politician reportedly, with a fantasy element involved in his character. The movie will have dialogues penned by Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom, Seethakaathi maker Balaji Tharaneetharan, and music by 96 fame Govind Vasantha, and will go on floors in June.
