Vijay Sethupathi comeback in 50th film: “Maharaja” becomes the highest opening grosser of 2024!

Vijay Sethupathi had been struggling with a series of solo projects that failed both critically and commercially. Fans were eagerly awaiting his resurgence with a remarkable film. Now, his 50th movie, Maharaja, has finally provided the comeback everyone was hoping for, excelling in both content and box office performance.

As previously reported, Maharaja is performing exceptionally well at the box office. Today, the filmmakers officially announced that Maharaja has achieved the highest-ever opening weekend gross for a Tamil film in 2024. The movie has earned over 32.6 crores globally in just three days. With today (Monday) being a holiday for Bakrid, the film is expected to continue its dominance at the box office.

Maharaja is receiving widespread acclaim for Vijay Sethupathi's exceptional performance, director Nithilan Swaminathan's brilliant non-linear screenplay, and Philomin Raj's masterful editing. This suspense crime thriller features a stellar cast including Vijay Sethupathi, Anurag Kashyap, Natty Natraj, Abhirami, Aruldoss, Munishkanth, Manikandan, Singampuli, and others, with music composed by Ajaneesh Loknath.
