It has been officially announced that the Vijay Sethupathi-Trisha starrer '96' will be hitting the screens on September 13, 2018. The trailer and audio tracks of the film will be released on August 24, 2018.

'96' will be clashing with Sivakarthikeyan-Samantha starrer 'Seemaraja'. So this will be another box office clash between VS and SK after 'Remo' and 'Rekka' released in 2016.

'Seemaraja' has been directed by Ponram and this is his third film with Sivakarthikeyan after the super hits 'Varuthapadadha Valibar Sangam' and 'Rajinimurugan'. The film is on a huge expectation line. Simran is said to play the lead antagonist in the film.

'96' has been directed by Prem Kumar who did the cinematography for Vijay Sethupathi's 2012 hit film 'Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kanom'. The teaser of the film has created a lot of buzz especially due to the fresh pairing and falmboyant chemistry of Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha. Govind Menon's songs will also be a plus point.
