Vijay Sethupathi is currently busy with multiple films. One among his upcoming films is 'Karuppan' in which he plays a rustic youngster. The versatile actor has been shooting for the film since the beginning of this year. The film has been predominantly shot in Theni and its neighboring towns and villages.

On Friday (May 12, 2017), the entire shooting of 'Karuppan' has been wrapped up and the post-production works will begin soon.

'Karuppan' is being directed by R.Panneerselvam of 'Renigunta' fame. Tanya is playing the female lead in this film while Bobby Simha will be seen as the lead villain. The supporting cast includes Kishore, Pasupathy. Singampuli and others.

D.Imman has provided the music score while Sakthi has done the cinematography.

'Karuppan' has been produced by S.Aishwarya under Shri Sai Raam Creations banner while the film will be presented by A.M.Ratnam under his Sri Suriya Movies banner.
