Touted to be a ninety-minute film without any songs, Merry Christmas will be shot in the backdrop of Pune and surrounding locales. Recently, Vijay Sethupathi has completed the dubbing for Santhosh Sivan directorial Mumbaikar, the Hindi remake of Lokesh Kanagaraj's Maanagaram.

In Mumbaikar, the Makkal Selvan reprises Munishkanth's role. On the work front, Vijay Sethupathi has Gandhi Talks with Kishor Pandurang Belekar, Maamanithan, Yaadhum Oore Yavarum Kelir, Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, and the Malayalam film 19(1)(a) in the pipeline.
