Vijay Sethupathi ia one of the most sought after actors in Kollywood, and the evident proof of this is in the number of projects offered to him. However, he had clearly mentioned that he does not have dates in his calendar for the next two years for any new project.

Already juggling 'Purampokku', 'Vasantha Kumaran', 'Vanmam' and 'Sangudevan', the actor is hard pressed for time. But debutante director Ranjith has managed to impress Vijay to such an extent that the actor has squeezed in dates in his busy schedule for yet another project, 'Mellisai'. Speaking on the new project, Vijay says The director narrated a compelling thriller to me and I am impressed with 'Mellisai'. This is the reason I have agreed to this film, despite my prior commitments. I am shooting for 'Mellisai' in between my other shoots.
