Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi hit the magical milestone of 25 films with the upcoming 'Seethakathi' in which he plays an eighty five year old drama actor. Vijay TV organized a special program to celebrate the occasion in which many of his costars and directors participated. However the entry that made fans go gaga was that of Sivakarthikeyan who appeared as a special guest to wish his arch rival VJS.
Sivakarthikeyan stated that the thing that he most admired in Vijay Sethupathi was his ability to choose scripts that are not only different for him as an actor but also gives Tamil audiences a new experience. Vijay Sethupathi on is turn explained that he is awestruck by the manner in which Siva has built up his market and how he handles his mass entertainer image. He also acknowledged that doing commercially entertaining movies like Siva is more difficult than making movies with offbeat subjects. The '96' hero admitted that he enjoys the Vijay Sethupathi- Sivakarthikeyan rivalry that has emerged after Sivaji-MGR, Rajini-Kamal and Ajith-Vijay. Siva assured the crowd that he and VJS and also their respective fans will never fight among themselves and will always encourage one another when their films release.
Gopinath the anchor of the show also pointed out that both Vijay Sethupathi and Sivakarthikeyan are similar in some ways such as working their way up in the industry from scratch and without a godfather. He also brought to attention that both the much loved heroes lost their fathers before making it big in the industry.
Sivakarthikeyan released the Ayya song from 'Seethakathi' and bragged to Vijay Sethupathi that he released the song "Kaka Po" from 'Kadhalum Kadanthu Pogum' and the trailer of 'Vikram Vedha' both of which became super hits. He wished that it would be a hattrick for them both with 'Seethakathi'. It was really heartening to see two professional rivals sharing a genuine bonding and expressing mutual admiration.
