Vijay Sethupathi is known for boldly expressing his views on social issues and one such speech has been trolled on social media by some sections. The Makkal Selvan was in Alappuzha, Kerala shooting for 'Maamanithan' directed by Seenu Ramaswamy when speaking to newsmen stated that he is a huge fan of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
Vijay Sethupathi added that the way the CM handled the recent Sabarimala issue was praiseworthy and women should not be stopped from entering the temple. According to the 'Sindhubaadh' hero, it is easy to be men but women suffer extreme pain during their menstrual cycle and contrary to beliefs it is not impure but sacred.
Vijay Sethupathi's statements have received a mixed response on social media with one section praising him for his liberal view while others have trolled him for speaking against age-old traditions and faith.
