Versatile actor Vijay Sethupathi is acting with Superstar Rajinikanth for the first time in the upcoming film directed by Karthik Subbaraj and produced by Sun Pictures. In this yet to be titled film of Thalaivar, Vijay Sethupathi is apparently playing the lead antagonist.

However this is not the first time Vijay Sethupathi got a chance to act with Rajinikanth whom he admires a lot. In a recent video interview the Makkal Selvan revealed that he missed the opportunity to share screen space with Thalaivar, not just once but twice.

The actor said that he was offered a role in the blockbuster 'Kabali' and he was required to shoot for six days. However, he could not take up that offer as he was held up with other projects.

Prior to this director K.S.Ravikumar wanted to cast him in a guest role in 'Lingaa'. Vijay Sethupathi himself came to know about this only when the veteran director later told him that he tried calling the 'Pizza' star to approach him to play the part in his film but could not reach him.

Vijay Sethupathi said he missed those golden opportunities and he would have accepted them just to watch how Rajinikanth acts on the sets and would not have minded about the scope of the role offered to him. Such is his admiration for Thalaivar.
