Lokesh Kanagaraj's rise in Kollywood that too at a young age has been nothing short of phenomenal. He started with an impressive debut in 'Maanagaram' and followed it up with the critically acclaimed blockbuster hit 'Kaithi' starring Karthi. He surprised many by helming Thalapathy Vijay's blockbuster hit 'Master' as only his third film and is now a much in demand director sought after by the biggest stars in South Indian cinema.
Lokesh has already signed on to direct his idol Kamal Haasan's 'Vikram' and was planning to start shooting in December 2020. However Kamal's commitment for 'Bigg Boss 4' and also his hectic political schedule has reportedly forced a postponement of the project. Further legendary actor also has undergone an unexpected surgery on his leg which requires time to heal as well.
A buzz is gaining momentum in Kollywood that Lokesh Kanagaraj has decided to make a new movie before 'Vikram' and has reportedly approached Vijay Sethupathi to play the lead. It is worth mentioning that the celebrated actor's towering performance as the ruthless villain in 'Master' was well received by pan Indian audiences and it is most likely that he would adjust dates for Lokesh as a return gift for creating the powerful Bhavani character in the film.
We have to take this news with a pinch of salt as there is no official confirmation as yet and the proposed project is at a nascent stage.
