Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi had recently started shooting for his second movie with director SP Jhananathan, titled as Laabam. The movie comes with the tagline daylight robbery and is produced by director Arumuga Kumar who had previously made Oru Nalla Naal Paathu Solren with Vijay Sethupathi.

Speaking in a recent interview, director SP Jhananathan revealed some interesting details on the movie. Vijay Sethupathi plays a character named Pakkiri, an action hero who fights for justice and he plays the head of farmers union. He will be seen sporting two different looks, with one of them being a long haired and thick bearded one.

Shruti Haasan plays a character named Sri Ranjani and her character reaches people with her passion towards music and travels with the hero throughout. The movie also stars Jagapathi Babu as the villain and Kalaiyarasan and Bigg Boss fame Daniel Anne Pope play important characters in Laabam.
