Vijay Sethupathi one of the busiest and most sensational stars of Kollywood is carving a niche for himself as one of the most versatile in the business in Indian cinema. He recently received the National Award for Best Supporting Actor for his authentic portrayal of the transgender Shilpa in Thiaragarajan Kumaraja's 'Super Deluxe' the most talked about film of 2019.

Vijay Sethupathi has always credited his director for the way his role shaped and true to that the first thing he did after returning home from Delhi was to rush to Thiagarajan Kumaraja's house. There he proudly showed the certificate he received to the filmmaker and once again emphasized that it is writing and direction that fetched him the Best Supporting Actor Award.
