Director K.V.Anand's films have always tried to be a commercial entertainer that addresses some serious social issues and most of his attempts have succeeded. With the much expected Vijaysethupathi starrer 'Kavan' he seems to have touched politics again after his 2011 blockbuster 'Ko' but this time he and his team of writers Suba and Kabila Vairamuthu seems to have delved deep into the role of positive as well as negative role of media in shaping up politics that affect the day to day lives of people.

First of all kudos to the director and his team, as they have successfully managed to retain the secret about the plot until the release of the trailer. The secrecy is indeed worth its wait.

From the trailer, one gets a feeling that the story will be multi-layered and it will talk about various subjects which is a usual trait in Anand's films. There is also a dialogue about the hormones of men that makes the go after multiple girls. And this dialogue is uttered by Vijay Sethupathi who never cares for his image as a hero.

Vijay Sethupathi seems to be playing a simple man turned hero who takes up a big corrupt media house and he is at his usual best at it.It is refreshing to see Vikranth as a young social activist and we hope this film gives him the much needed break. T.Rajendhar and Pandiyarajan seems to be the characters on the side of the hero but one should not forget the director's earlier claim that almost all the characters have multiple shades in the film. We can definitely expect more surprises and shocks in the film.

Madonna looks ravishing and the trailer has plenty of romance moments between the lead pair.

Hiphop Tamizha's music and Abhinandan Ramanujam's cinematography seem to be adding colour and vigour to the proceedings.

'Kavan' has been produced by Kalpathi.S.Aghoram, S.Ganesh and S.Suresh who are well-known for spending lavishly to bring out quality. This is evident in the trailer of 'Kavan'.

In short the trailer has increased the expectations to great levels and one cannot wait to catch the film on the screens on March 31, 2017.
