Actor Vijay Sethupathi has already had three releases this year- 'Sethupathi' in February, 'Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum' in March and 'Iraivi' in May. Director Seenu Ramasamy's 'Dharmadurai' in which he has played the lead role will be hitting the screens this week (August 9) as his fourth film of the year.

Now it has been officially confirmed that the versatile actor will have another release within a gap of 50 days. Sivabalan Pictures which has acquired the distribution rights of 'Rekka' directed by Rathnasiva with Sivakarthikeyan and Lakshmi Menon in lead roles have confirmed in their social media page that the film will hit the screens on October 7 on account of Aayutha Pooja holiday.

Already Sivakarthikeyan's 'Remo' and Jiiva's 'Kavalai Vendam' have been confirmed to release on Ocotber 7 to cash in on the long Pooja holidays. Now 'Rekka' joining the contest will lead to the head to head box office clash of Vijay Sethupathi and Sivakarthikeyan who are two promising and fast rising stars of the present generation of actors in Kollywood. The earlier instance of this phenomenon was 'Ethirneechal' and 'Soodhu Kavvum' releasing on May 1, 2013. Both these films were super hits and helped the two highly talented actors get a stronghold in the film industry.
