Versatile actor Vijay Sethupathi's latest release 'Dharmadurai' has released on Friday and it is having a fantastic opening weekend. Now the actor has completed 'Rekka' directed by Rathna Siva.

While the film is expected to hit the screens on October 7, the official press release from the makers offer some interesting insights about the film.

'Rekka' has been produced as an out and out commercial entertainer on a grand budget by B.Ganesh of Common Man Productions banner.

The film's story revolves around a person who commits an error unknowingly at his young age and that gets magnified and starts seriously affecting his life. After becoming an adult he gets an opportunity to corrects his mistake. The rest deals with whether he uses the opportunity or now. The makers assure that the writer-director Rathna Siva has written a nail-biting screen with this storyline.

Vijay Sethupathi who has achieved laurels as a performer will be seen in an out and out commercial action hero in this film. He plays an youngster hailing from Kumbakonam. Lakshmi Menon the female lead is a Madurai girl who is the hero's lover.

After his menacing act in 'Vedalam,' Kabir Singh is playing the lead villain of Vijay Sethupathi in this film.

The supporting cast includes Sathish, K.S.Ravikumar, Kishore, Harish Uthaman, Sija Rose, Sriranjini and Meera Krishnan among others.

D.Imman is rendering musical score. Dinesh Krishnan has handled the cinematography. K.L.Praveen is doing the Editor's job. Mohana Mahendran is the Art director. Raju Sundaram and Gayathri Raghuram have choreographed the dance movements while Rajasekar has designed and directed the stunt sequences.

The film has been shot in Chennai, Karaikudi, Madurai, Kumbakonam and Bangkok. The team is planning to have the audio release very soon.

Sivabalan Pictures have acquired the theatrical release rights of the film and they are planning to bring the film
