Actor Vijay Sethupathi's long delayed thriller flick 'Puriyatha Puthir' will be hitting the screens on September 1, 2017 as per the latest posters of the film. The film formerly titled as 'Mellisai' was earlier scheduled to hit the screens for Pongal festival weekend in January this year but had to back out later due to various reasons.

Now this film will be releasing close on the heels of the super hit success of 'Vikram Vedha' starring Vijay Sethupathi as one of the leads and this will sure enhance the film's fortunes at the Box office. .

Thala Ajith's 'Vivegam' will be hitting the screens on August 24, 2017. So Vijay Sethupathi's film is releasing in a week's gap after Ajith's film.

'Puriyatha Puthir' stars Gayathri as the female lead while Ramesh Thilak will be seen in an important role. Sam C.S. who scored music for 'Vikram Vedha' has done the music score for this film also.
