Versatile actor Vijay Sethupathi has already had six releases this year and his long delayed 'Mellisai' directed by debutant Ranjith Jeyakodi is also expected to hit the screens in November. The film stars Gayathri as the female lead while Ramesh Thilak plays an important character.

Now it seems the film that was launched in December 2013 will be undergoing a title change. Sources reveal that a prominent distributor of Tamil films who watched the film recently in a special screening felt that the title is too soft for a thriller film like this and hence suggested that a title change is imperative to create the apt feeling about the film in the minds of audience.

Hence the makers have apparently decided to change the title as 'Puriyatha Puthir'. This is the title of director K.S.Ravikumar's debut film that released in 1990 and that was also a super hit thriller.

Sources add that the makers of 'Mellisai' have acquired the necessary rights for the title, from the producer as well as director of the 1990 super hit starring Rahman, Rekha and Rahuvaran.

We will have to wait for an official confirmation in this regard.
