A biopic of legendary Sri Lankan cricketer Muttiah Muralidharan titled '800' was announced a few weeks back starring Vijay Sethupathi in the lead and the motion poster was released on October 13th. There was widespread opposition to Vijay Sethupathi donning the role from allover the world and especially from the Kollywood film industry itself.

One Rithik Rajh a user on Twitter made rape threats to Vijay Sethupathi's little daughter which angered fans and common people alike and a police complaint was made against him. The cybercrime department traced the person to be in Sri Lanka and Interpol was brought in to facilitate his arrest.

Ritik Rajh has now released a video in which he has apologized for making such derogatory tweets and has stated that he was frustrated on losing his job due to corona and was also angry that Vijay Sethupathi is acting as Muttiah Muralidharan who Sri Lankan Tamils consider as a traitor.

The person has also apologized to Vijay Sethupathi calling him elder brother and his daughter saying that she is like a sister to him. His mother has also apologized for her son's deed and asked all Tamils to forgive them.
