Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi is embroiled in the latest controversy as the All India Hindu Sabha headquartered in Trichy lodged a police complaint that he spoke in a manner hurting the sentiments of Hindus during his 'Namma Ooru Hero' show telecast on Sun TV.

in an episode of "Namma Ooru Hero" telecast on Sun TV on 17.3.2019  VJS had made a statement that in Hindu temples the priests show people the statues being bathed but when it is being dressed up they close it to the devotees. The 'Master' actor had mentioned that a small girl asked her granddad why they don't allow her to see gods being dressed up when they are showing them bathing.

Netizens have unearthed a video of the late Crazy Mohan well known for his passion towards the Hindu religion and his scholarly knowledge in it saying the exact joke in a speech he made during one of his drama shows.  The question raised is why the backlash is coming to Vijay Sethupathi and why the same people were silent when spoken by the late veteran.
