Rumours have been doing the rounds that Vijay Sethupathi degraded the Bhagavad Gita in a social media post stating that it was not a holy book and that the world is in a bad state due to fantasy epics such as this.

Vijay Sethupathi has clarified that he has never spoken ill against the Gita or any other holy book and will never ever do so in his life. The Makkal Selvan has blamed anti social elements for spreading such a damaging rumour and assured that he would never engage in any activity that would become disharmony among his people. The 'Maamanithan' star has posted the real image from which the miscreant has altered using photoshop to create the misleading post.
