Vijay Sethupathi one of the busiest actors in pan Indian cinema currently attained star status with the 2013 film 'Soodhu Kavvum' directed by Nalan Kumarasamy. He played a golden-hearted kidnapper in the film and Sanchita Shetty played his imaginary love interest. The portions between the duo were highly hilarious and were pivotal for the success of the dark comedy.
Sanchita Shetty after a long gap is playing the lead in a female-centric film 'Azhagiya Kanne' directed by R. Vijayakumar an erstwhile associate of Seenu Ramaswamy. The Makkal Selvan has agreed to do a cameo role as himself in the film since the director is close to him right from the time they worked on 'Thenmerku Paruvakaatru'.
Vijayakumar has stated that according to the story the new face hero plays an assistant director and in the crucial scene, he narrates a script to VJS. He also gushed that the busy star gave his full cooperation and even let them use his own office to complete the shoot there within half an hour.
'Azhangiya Kanne' is produced by 'Master' fame Xavier Britto and stars Leo Sivakumar and Sanchita Shetty in the lead roles with music by N.Raghunandhan and lyrics by Vairamuthu.
