The past year has been a great year for debut actor Vijay with his "Pizza" and "Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom" whose directors were debutantes too. Notably even the movies he is working on now are by debut directors.

When asked about this, Vijay said, "I have been meeting a lot of new directors and their concepts amaze me. I’m not giving the assistant directors a new lease of life by teaming up with them. In fact, they have been giving me a lift in my career by casting me in their brilliant scripts. Most of my friends are assistant directors. I used to hang out with a group of aspiring directors before Pizza happened. We used to discuss a lot of stories all the time. Now, when they are making a movie, they approach me." The actor also said that he has no issues signing up with well known directors either. A very safe and diplomatic young man indeed!
