Vijay Sethupathi after his blockbuster hit '96' has now started shooting for the multi lingual mega historical flick 'Sye Raa' starring Megastar Chiranjeevi in the title role while Legendary Indian Superstar Amitabh Bachan, Sudeep, Nayanthara, Tamannaah, Jagapathy Babu, Nasser and a host of top stars feature.

It is learnt that the Makkal Selvan will be portraying the role of a fierce warrior Obbaya who will help 'Sye Raa' Narasimha Reddy in the story and it is a very pivotal role . A grandeur war sequence is planned in this schedule that will be on par with the ones in 'Baahubali' and 'Baahubali 2'. Chiru and VJS combo along with their warriors will take on the East India Company forces numbering 2300 soldiers. Cinematographer R. Rathnavelu is capturing the sequence with state of the art modern spider cameras. Tollywood superstar and the son of Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan Teja is producing the film with one of the highest budgets in Indian cinema.
