Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi, had a happening 2018, with blockbuster movies like Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, 96, the release of his silver jubilee flick Seethakaathi, and his production venture Merku Thodarchi Malai being appreciated by critics and audience alike.

The actor began his 2019 with a bang, playing the antagonist in Superstar Rajnikanth's latest offering Petta directed by Karthik Subbaraj, and is currently shooting for Maamanithan directed by Seenu Ramasamy and costarring Gayathrie and Guru Somasundaram.

On the other hand, the latest buzz making rounds is that, the actor has been approached to star in a comedy entertainer by director Ponram, who had last directed the Siva Karthikeyan starrer Seemaraja, and is known for his hits Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam and Rajnimurugan. It is to be seen if Vijay Sethupathi gives his nod for this script.
