The Tamil New Year which falls on April 14th is considered a very important date for the release of leading stars films and the tradition has been followed from the times of MGR and Sivaji.

For the 2016 Tamil New Year Illayathalapathy Vijay`s Theri` directed by Atlee and starring Prabhu, Samantha and Amy Jackson is releasing amidst huge expectations. It has just been confirmed that Suriya`s sci-fi thriller 24` directed by Vikram Kumar with A. Rahman providing the music is also hitting the screens on the same day. Looks like a variety treat from Vijay and Suriya awaits fans to kick-start the summer this year.
