Ilayathalapathy Vijay's grand Tamil New year Release 'Theri' has been creating huge box office records across the globe and in the home city-Chennai the Atlee directorial continues to make earth shattering business at the close of its second weekend at the box office.
In its second weekend between April 22 and April 24, 'Theri' is had 486 shows in 20 screens across the Metropolitan city with more than 90% occupancy which is phenomenal for a film in second week, given the present trade conditions in Kollywood. The film has collected a whopping Rs.1,85,32,820 in its second weekend.
We had earlier reported that the film on its release date- April 14. surpassed the one crore collection mark in Chennai itself which is a record for a Vijay film. Now the film has collected more than one crore in its second weekend also and this is enough proof that the film is a super hit that has been retaining the momentum even after the opening hype and hoopla,
In all the film has collected Rs.7,89,54,020 in the period between April 14-April 24 in Chennai Box Office alone. The film can be expected to touch the 10 crore mark in Chennai within a few days from now which in itself would become a new big record.
