Vijay's 'Theri' creates a Massive New Record

The advance bookings for tickets of Ilayathalapathy VIjay's upcoming mega family entertainer 'Theri' was opened on the wee hours of Sunday and all the shows for the first day in theaters across Tamil Nadu became full within a few minutes and the tickets for the next few days are fast filling.
Normally films with superstars will have a huge release with more than 80% of screens and shows allocated in the first weekend. 'Theri' of Vijay has created a new record in this regard.
SPI Cinemas the multiplex with five branches in Chennai and one branch in Coimbatore has allocated a record number of 124 shows for 'Theri'. This is the highest number of shows allocated for a film in this swanky Mall. The previous record was by Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Lingaa' which got 104 shows.
'Theri' has created another record in Jazz Cinemas, another prominent swanky movieplex in Chennai. All the tickets for as many as 33 shows of the film on the first day have been booked already. Withthis 'Theri' has surpassed the record created by director Shankar's 'I' which had 30 houseful shows on the day of release.
Directed by Atlee and produced by Kalaipuli.S.Thanu. 'Theri' will be hitting the screens on April 14, 2016 that is within a couple of days from now.
