Here comes the official announcement about the cast and crew of 'Thalapathy 61'. The is the 100th production venture of the prestigious Sri Thenandal Films banner. Atlee will be directing the film with Ilayathalapathy Vijay in the lead role.

IndiaGlitz was the first to report in September 2016 that K.V.Vijayendra Prasad the man with 'Midas Touch' will be writing the script for 'Vijay 61' or 'Thalapathy 61', ALSO READ: Whoa! 'Baahubali' and 'Theri' creators join for 'Vijay 61'

Vijayendra Prasad, the father of director S.S.Rajamouli and he has written the story for many blockbuster flicks including 'Magadheera', 'Naan Ee', 'Baahubali', 'Bajrangi Bhaijan', Now this will be the first time this senior screenwriter will be working in a direct Tamil film after 'Baahubali' which was made as a Tamil-Telugu bilingual. He has penned the screenplay for the story written by the film's director Atlee.

The longtime speculation that Isaipuyal A.R.Rahman will be rendering the musical score for the film has also now become a realty with the official announcement confirming the same. Debutant GK Vishnu will be the cinematographer while Ruben will handle the cuts. Muthuraj will be the Art director, Anal Arasu will design the stunt choreography.

Kajal Aggarwal and Samantha will be playing the female leads. This is the third film with Vijay for both the leading heroines. Jyothika will be playing a pivotal role and this will be her third with Vijay after 'Kushi' and 'Thirumalai'.

SJ Suryah, the director of 'Kushi' Sathyaraj, Vaigaipuyal Vadivelu, and Sathyan will be playing the important supporting roles.

The shooting will begin in Chennai from tomorrow (February 1, 2017). Subsequent schedules will be held in parts of North India, USA and European countries.

The film will be produced by S.Ramasamy of Sri Thenandal Films banner.

All the above mentioned details are already known to us but now they have been officially confirmed by the makers.

This is the 61st film of Vijay as an actor and hence the provisional title is 'Thalapathy61', The title of the film will be finalised in due course of time.
